Dr. Shaik Suleman: Pioneering Global Education and Scholarly Excellence
Dr. Shaik Suleman, a distinguished former General Manager of EdCIL (India) Limited—a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Education—boasts an illustrious career spanning over three decades in academia and professional engagements. With a robust foundation of 32 years in academic and professional arenas, Dr. Suleman dedicates his expertise primarily to educational advancements and international student placements.
Dr. Suleman holds a Doctorate from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He has dedicated 17 years to teaching and 15 years to spearheading initiatives in International Student placements, Advisory, and Technical Support groups within EdCIL. His career is highlighted by his role in fostering international education through extensive travel across more than 30 countries, promoting Indian education in regions including SAARC, the Middle East, and Africa.
A key participant in Indian delegations aimed at bolstering bilateral relations in higher education, Dr. Suleman has significantly contributed to educational exchanges in countries such as Brazil, Afghanistan, Oman, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania. He has been instrumental in signing over 50 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with prestigious Indian Universities and premier institutions, facilitating the academic pursuits of foreign nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.
Dr. Suleman’s efforts extend beyond placements, having managed significant scholarship schemes such as DASA, SPDC, KKFP, and others, under various ministries including the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of External Affairs, and Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs. His initiatives in recruiting Indian experts, faculty, and teachers for international assignments further underscore his commitment to global educational development.
Currently a Professor of Practice in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Andhra University, Dr. Suleman is passionately committed to combating unemployment among youth in Andhra Pradesh, aiming to ignite an Employability Revolution. His outstanding contributions have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Best Division Award for 2009-2010 and the Best Executive Award for 2008-2009 from EdCIL.
